Anita Julia Schreyer-Cash

July 30, 1946 – May 23, 2020

Anita Julia Schreyer Cash was born on July 30, 1946 in Bayonne, New Jersey. Anita passed away on May 23 at 3:01 p.m. in Pembroke Pines, Florida with her family by her side.

Anita moved to Miramar, Florida in 1947 with her mother (Anita Reigle Schreyer), Brother (William “Billy” Harvey Schreyer), and sister (Judith Schreyer McCracken). Her father (William Sydney Schreyer) had already moved to Miramar for work. Growing up Anita enjoyed tap and jazz dancing. She also enjoyed hanging out by the pool with her brother, sister, and friends. Anita remained in Miramar where she married and raised her family. Anita married Joseph Clifton Cash June 19th, 1965.

Anita had two sons David Shayne Cash and Robert “Bobby” Ray Cash. She loved taking them fishing and showing them the beauty of the ocean. She even came along on David’s shrimping adventures. Anita and her family loved animals so much, they always recused every animal they came across. Their home was always filled with different kinds of animals. Anita had many animals. Her favorite animals were Billy, Scooter, Gizmo, Crash, Charlie, Poochie and Tinker Bell (the dogs), Stinker (the bird) and Chloe, Powder & JoJo (the cats). Anita and her family also loved to be around the rest of their family members who lived close by. She also loved poetry. She wrote about her family, beauty of nature, and her granddaughter.

Becoming a grandmother was Anita’s greatest joys. Anita fell head over heels for her granddaughter, Sara Jessica Cash. Anita was the most amazing grandmother. She would wear a big T-shirt with Sara’s face on it to her birthday parties and always had the best gifts. Anita also shared her love of the ocean by taking Sarah crabbing, just like she took her sons when they were young. Anita loved to share stories with Sara all the time especially stories about unicorns, fairies, and angels. Anita shared her loved of music with Sara including Stevie Nicks and The Dixie Chicks. The two became inseparable and shared many lovely moments. Anita was always there for Sara and Sara was always there for Anita. Grandma Anita will be missed by her family who loved her dearly.

Below is a poem Anita wrote in her journal:

Sing joyfully unto us for we must go on. Even after death.

If not for us then for the loved one you have lost.

For they had only love in their hearts.

The pain of the loss is forever, but the love in endless.

Her love is ours. Our memories will never cease.

Your sweet and gentle kisses like the whisper of the end.

Until we meet again.

Anita Julia Schreyer-Cash, we love you the “Whole Wide World.”

~Sara Cash

Anita is survived by her husband, Joseph Clifton Cash of Miramar, FL; sons Robert “Bobby” Cash of Miramar, FL and David Shayne Cash of Hollywood, FL, and granddaughter Sara Cash of Boca Raton, FL; sister Judith Schreyer McCracken (William Henry McCracken) of Delray Beach and their family; and by the Cash family sister in-laws, brother in-laws, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Anita R. and William S. Schreyer and her brother William “Billy” Harvey Schreyer.

In Loving Memory our dear Anita may you fly with the angels and dance with butterflies.

All our love…

My grandma. She just wanted to see everyone smile. She would drop everything to give you anything. The love of my life. My world hasn’t and never will be the same. I love you with all of my heart. She thought me almost everything I know about life and spirit. I’ll never forget the ways she talked about her angels.
