Obituary

Cleveland Agustus Barnett, aka “Boss”, was born
September 30, 1925, in Alsten Clarendon, Jamaica.
He was born to Claud Barnett and Adina Shirley and
was the first of five children born to this union. After a
childhood filled with memories, Cleveland graduated
from Alston Primary then went to Alston Secondary,
where he left early to take care of his siblings. Cleveland
left Alston to join his mother in Maypen, where he met
other siblings from his mother’s second marriage.
Cleveland met Annita Allen. They got married and had
nine children. Cleveland migrated to the U.S.A., where
he worked for Florida mining for eleven years. He later
worked for Forest Lawn for six years.
In 1985, he was in an accident that left him in a coma
for ten days. After awakening, his son was murdered
in Jamaica, which led him to move his other children
to the U.S.A. A year later, his wife passed away, and
he lived with two of his daughters until they moved
to Texas and South Carolina. After that, he lived with
Rosalee for 14 years. In 2011, his health started failing
after he got his gall bladder removed. He was called
home on Friday, December 20, 2019.
May His Soul Rest in Peace...
