Mr. Damion Selvin Solan, 32, of Lauderhill Florida, passed away suddenly Tuesday, October 13, 2020 in Lauderhill, Florida. Born in Lionel Town, Clarendon, Jamaica on January 12, 1988 to Selvin Winford Solan and Ruby (Susingh) Solan. He attended the Vera Technical College. Mr. Solan emigrated from Jamaica, on June 19, 2010 to America with his fiancé and six-month son. On June 25, 2010 Damion Solan married Colett Brandie (McKenzie) Solan. They purchased their first home in 2016 in Lauderhill, Florida. He was an entrepreneur who owned and operated his own electrician business, Solan Electric. He was a hard worker who was committed to his family and business. He became a United States citizen in November 2019. He had a love for music, especial reggae which included music by Sizzla Kalonji, Garnet Silk and many other artists. His other passions also included, a love of soccer, track and field, cricket, swimming and free diving for lobsters. He had a love for seafood. As a youth in Jamaica, young Damion loved church, singing, farming, and going to the Mineral Bath. He was also an obedient, protective, and ambitious child growing up. Mr. Solan is survived by his wife, Colett Brandie (McKenzie) Solan, two sons, William Damion Solan and Cole Walter Solan, one daughter, Catherine Ruby Solan, his mother Ruby (Susingh) Solan, his father Selvin Winford Solan; sisters: Pancheta Morris, Charmaine Morris, Shernett Solan, Camile Solan, Ryanesha Solan, Missel Solan; brothers: Harry Morris, Calvin Morris, and Joel Solan; sixteen nieces and sixteen nephews, thirteen grandnieces and grandnephews, and other family members and friends who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by one sister Keniesha Roberta Solan.
Family will be receiving friends for vitiation at 12:00pm on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 12:00 PM at the Bell’s Funeral Home and Cremation, 1826 N University Drive Pembroke Pines, FL 33024; with the funeral service starting at 1:00pm. Interment will follow the funeral at Fairway Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1391 NW 34th Street, Lighthouse Point, FL 33064 at 2:30pm.
