My Uncle Jean truly loved his family and he was a kind man and a true gentleman, he always put others before himself. I know how proud that the family were of Him.  He will undoubtedly be missed. Please accept my deepest Sympathy and Heartfelt condolences of your father’s death. "However, I like to convey to you today this fact that it is not how a person dies but how a person lived their life and have chosen to express God's love which defines their strength and character". Matthew 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruit.

Father, we come boldly with heavy hearts before Your throne of grace praying for Nadia Rachel and Jean Durand family. For Your Word tells us to pray for those who are afflicted. You are Almighty Creator God; holy and full of grace and love. Our hearts are heavy because of a life that has left us. Death engulfs us Lord. Fear is waiting to take us down. Thank You Father, that because of Jesus, You know our pain and sorrow intimately. Thank You that Jesus knows the way through this dark shadow. Take the hand of our dear sisters (Nadia, Rachel/brother Jean-Bernard, and make Yourself known to them in a personal way. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Keep that which is Your own (Pappy Jean Michel Durand) and take him into eternity to be with You. As your word teaches us that “To be absent in the body is to be present with Jesus our Lord” 2 Corinthians 5:8. Thank You Jesus for the resurrection. Lord, we are before You, confessing that You are Lord of all; the gate keeper to eternal life. Your promise is that You -- and You alone -- will come to take us home. As it says in Psalm 23:4 “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me”. Thank you for the comfort we find in Your presence. So as an intercessor, I stand in the gap and lift them up before You in prayer. Father, Your Word says that you are the God of all comfort, who comforts our hearts in times of tribulation. I therefore, call upon You on the family’s behalf, and I pray that You would comfort their hearts in the lost of their loved one “Pappy” Jean. Your Word also says that there is a time and a season for everything under the heavens including a time for weeping and mourning. During this time, I pray that You would walk with the Durand family, and comfort them, and help them through this time and season of grief and despair; and may You also pour in Your healing oil and balm to soothe, mend, and heal their hearts.
Father, I thank You for being our peace in the midst of our storms; so, in the midst of this storm of sorrow in the family’s life, I pray that You would be their inner peace; and may You flood their mind, heart and entire life with Your peace, the peace that passes all understandings.
Your word says that You are our refuge and strength, and a very present help in times of trouble. So, Father, I pray that during this time of trouble and sorrow in their life, that You help them to find refuge and strength. Lead them to Your secret place, the secret place of rest, peace, security and comfort that is only found in You. Your Word says that when we are weak in ourselves, we can find strength in You.
So, as You renew the strength of the eagle when it is weak, I pray that You become the lifter of their heads, and give them the courage and strength that they need to face each coming day. As their hearts begins to search for answers as to the reason for the loss of their love one, may they not blame You, or loose heart in You, but come to know You as the Sovereign God. I pray that this loss would not devastate or destroy the family’s faith and trust in You, but may You elevate their faith and bless them to continue to trust in You, and in Your awesome Word. Father, I pray not only for the Durand family’s strength and comfort, but I also pray for every family member, friend and all others that are grieving and hurting over this loss. May You also be their strength, and comfort for each of their hearts and lives. Now Father, I commit this family into Your hands. And as I have prayed Your Word over them, I thank You for given them restoration, strength, and determination through the strength of Your Word and comfort of Your Spirit. We trust that You will do what is right, what is loving. Whether in death or in life Your will is accomplished and You are sovereign. May we know Your presence, Lord. Keep us ever aware of Your loving hand guiding us through all things. In the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen!
