Obituary for Larry Jene Holmes
Larry J. Holmes, 75, of St. Lucie, Florida passed away peacefully on December 29, 2022.
Born in Boaz, Kentucky to Ernie and Helen Holmes, Larry was a resident of Schererville, Indiana for the majority of his adult life prior to moving to Florida. He was a rambunctious person who always thought he was right regardless of the circumstance. He was also a kind fellow with a heart of gold who would help whomever he could. After serving active duty in the Navy, Larry worked in sales the rest of his life while also dabbling in various business opportunities. At 52, Larry traded his car dealership for retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, sitting in the sun, and talking to anybody he could.
Larry is survived by his sons Josh (Amanda) and Ryan (Wendy) Holmes along with his three brothers Robert (Liz), Randy and Randall. Larry was a loving grandparent to Kaitlyn, Andrew, Steven and Jessica.
Larry will be laid to rest at Danville National Cemetery in Danville, Illinois on February 10, 2023, at 10:00am with military honors.
