Monica Elaine was born on Monday June 13, 1933 to Gwendolyn Francis, in Kingston Jamaica. Monica was one of 4 children, Rico, Cynthia, and Norma.
Monica was raised by her Grandmother Sophia to be a devote Christian and was dedicated to her faith and family. Monica married Enos St Earl Daniels and started a family. Together they had 4 children. Monica was raised with a strong sense of serving others. She had a compassionate, sweet, kind, and generous soul. She filled her life with joy in giving of herself by helping others.
At a young age Monica’s gift to connect with children was easily recognized and propelled her to enter the teaching profession. Monica was a devote Teacher whose passion for children and their academic success was matched by her ability to express her talent, making each of her students feel they were the most important person and the lessons she taught went way beyond the classroom.
Monica divorced Enos and later married Donald Osuch who is since deceased.
Monica continued her illustrious and long career as a Teacher, in Jamaica and in Bronx NY. Even after her retirement at the age of 62, she continued to raise all participation in her Church, Throop Memorial Presby in Rosedale Queens where she left her legacy of a Daycare in her name. She was so much more than a Teacher.
Monica passed away peacefully on November 2, 2020 and was surrounded by her family. She is survived by her last living sibling Norma Isaacs, her four children, Norman, Paul, Peter, and Jacqueline, 10 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, and other relatives.
Monica was an amazing daughter, sister, Aunt, mother, grandmother, friend, and mentor. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew and loved her. She is the wind beneath our wings, and the light of our lives.
May her soul rest in peace. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
